LaTonya was born and raised in Columbus, OH, she recently relocated to the Maryland area. LaTonya earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology at the Central State University. She worked as a science teacher in the Columbus Public School district for several years before pursuing a career in nursing. She attended Mount St. Joseph University where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing for her initial licensure as a RN. She ultimately matriculated at Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, OH where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, a Post Master Certificate for Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice for Educational Leadership. She has publications and poster presentation on Sickle Cell Disease.
LaTonya is certified to prescribe Suboxone for opiate addiction and sees patients with Integrative Counseling. She is currently pursuing a Post Master Certificate as a Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Regis College in Massachusetts. She has experience working in occupational medicine, primary care, urgent care, correction medicine, and as a hospitalist with some in-patient mental health work.
