Mr. Cherry is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor ( LGPC) in the state of Maryland. He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults and has worked in school, outpatient and inpatient settings engaging with individuals with a wide range of mental and emotional concerns. Mr. Cherry conducts his sessions with a person-centered and personal growth outlook, focusing on meeting clients where they are while working collaboratively to develop coping skills based in the clients’ unique interests and strengths. His clinical experience includes and is not limited to depression, anxiety, acute stress, trauma, difficult emotions, intrusive thoughts, and difficulty in relationships.
Mr. Cherry’s goal is to help the client explore the root of their distress while also learning and implementing coping skills to improve their ability to manage stressors. Mr. Cherry’s approach in sessions is to develop effective thought processes and discover new ways of thinking and behaving. Offering support and insights to help each Client to develop personal resilience and creativity amidst life’s seemingly unending challenges. while also validating the current emotional experience through acceptance and distress tolerance intra-personal self-discovery. He is experienced in working with individuals, families, and groups and has worked with both intensive outpatient care, and partial hospitalization. Growth focused treatment.
Mr. Cherry’s primary goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for each client to gain insight and learn to manage their stress. He is an empathetic clinician who understands that therapy is not a one size fits all practice and will work with the client to help them work towards a more fulfilling life.
